It’s true there are such things…and i have the pleasure of having a studio on the same compound as The Two Headed Horse..

2HH is  a multimedia company where  amongst other things like Art Openings, Film, Shred Life Skate boards and TV shows  like   American Misfits are created.

Over the summer Ted Newsome approached me about turning the American Misfits logo into a hood ornament for there 1977 Mercedes Benz  Bio Diesel Hearse.

There wasn’t to much time to complete the project since they were hitting the road to film season 3 in few weeks.. I heavily modified a plastic skeleton hand, as part of the modification I inserted the mounting tab from a Mercedes hood ornament and had it cast in Brass. Season 3 aired on April 3rd on FUEL TV. There are times in one’s life when events that come to pass are far beyond coincidence… Like the meeting of Photographer Michael Farr.  Around 12 years ago, when Juxtapoz magazine was still a new magazine, they did a story on a photographer from Southern California, Michael Farr. I identified so deeply with the article that they wrote about him, that i wrote a letter to Juxtapoz thanking them for introducing me to his work.  Flash forward 8 years, i just moved to L.A., and at a party i met a guy that seemed kinda familiar. I recalled the article and the photos that were in Juxtapoz all those years ago, and when i remembered, i nearly flipped my lid…It was Michael Farr! The next time i ran into him i told him about the influence that the article had on me, and that, in fact, it inspired me to write them a letter. He gave me this odd stare, than said “NO F*#@ING WAY MAN – you’re the guy that wrote that letter!?”  A permanent friendship was born…   Here are some images that he took at the old Spragwerks studio, working his Michael Farr magic in the form of film (yes film!)

Hobo Hearts

03/08/10

Here are some rings that i made for some dear friends of mine, Emily and Ted.
The image was borrowed from an old Buster Keaton movie – two hearts colliding into one.  The “A” is for Alabama – aka Abby – their adorable daughter.

You can check out Ted’s stuff here.
